FAQ

Areolas

Individuals who have undergone mastectomies, gender-affirming top surgeries or other breast augmentation or reconstruction, or those with faded natural areolas who would like boosted coloration/detail. Q: Is the procedure covered by insurance?

Many insurance companies cover 3D areola tattoos as part of breast reconstruction. We have a billing team that will do the billing for any private insurance companies (United Healthcare, Cigna, etc.). Please reach out with any questions!

When performed by an experienced artist, they can look incredibly realistic, mimicking natural coloration, texture, and dimension, customized to each client’s needs and preferences.

Scars & Stretch Marks

Camouflage tattoos must be done on your most natural/normal skin tone. The tattoo will not tan, so you will see a slight difference if you do tan. However, it won’t be as much of a difference as before! Remember to be diligent about wearing sunscreen as well.

Be sure to have no active sunburn or fake tanner on the area and that you have not used any retinol or AHA/BHA-based products on the area for at least a month.

Everyone and every case is different, but most commonly, 2-4 sessions can be expected, sometimes more if it’s a more complex case.

Freckles

When done by a skilled artist, they can look very natural. The key is proper placement, technique and color matching.

Final results typically last 1-3 years, fading gradually over time, at which point you may want a color boost/touch up.

Saline Tattoo Lightening/Saline Emergency Removal

Li-ft saline solution is made up of a special formula of salts and fruit seed extracts and is applied to the fresh tattoo to help draw the pigment back out by the process of osmosis. This is the only safe and effective way to lift pigment or ink out of the skin BEFORE it heals. This needs to be done ideally within 24 hours of receiving a tattoo or permanent makeup that you do not like and need undone immediately, with a maximum window of 72 hours. The sooner, the better. Please call or text us at 414-246-7101 to be helped ASAP. This service might require off-hours booking.

Li-ft saline solution is made up of a special formula of salts and fruit seed extracts, and is tattooed into the skin, over the existing tattoo you want removed. By the process of osmosis, water carries the pigment molecules up from the dermis to the epidermis and then out of the skin.

It will likely take several sessions to lighten the tattoo, and we can’t guarantee it will ever be 100% gone. Expect a commitment of more than a year, as we can only enter the skin every 8-12 weeks and ideally no more than 3-4 times in a year. This ensures the skin heals up entirely in between sessions, and minimizes the risk of scarring. If you want something lightened so it can be covered, this may be achieved in only one or two sessions but 3-4 is more likely. It depends on many variables – the pigments, level of saturation, age, location, your unique skin type, lifestyle, etc. It is best to start with a free consultation, so we can take a look and establish goals and expectations!

This is best for smaller tattoos as we only want to work on a small area at a time to minimize any risks with healing (infection, scarring, etc.). The most we would want to do in one session is the size of a deck of cards or smaller. If you have a large piece you want removed, this method may not be very efficient.

Yes, this works on both body art and permanent makeup (cosmetic tattoos) and all colors of ink/pigment. It’s safer than laser if you are concerned about carcinogens in old ink, since it draws ink out the way it was tattooed in; versus laser which shatters the ink molecules so your body can flush it out through your system. However, laser tattoo removal can be a faster and more efficient alternative with less “downtime.”
